cats with behavior problem along with crying as if in pain when being picked up?

I have a 1 1/2 year old male cat he has recently started to cry as if he is in pain when he is being picked up. He also seems to like to eat string and i fear that it may be causing some major problem he also has some blood on his stool just looking to see if anyone else has had this problem or if it is nothing to worry about before i call the vet.

Blood in the stool is a sign of a problem. There is a chance that your cat could have ingested some string. If the string does appear DO NOT pull it out, this can cause damage. It can’t hurt to feed your kitty some hairball lube to help him pass the string if it was ingested. Due to the blood and crying in pain a trip to the vet is needed.

My Cat Ate a string once (I saw it happen and could not get to him in time). The vet recommended metamucil (unflavored) to bulk up the stool and help it pass. The vet also said 3x daily hairball lube could help. I bought some gloves and did poo smooshing until I found the string and knew that he had passed it. It took about 4-5 days to pass. My vet did mention that at the first sign of pain and or blood I should bring him back in. My kitty had neither and passed the string without problem. Since you kitty has blood and pain, get him to the vet.
