Hi my friend’s kitten has fleas but the flea treatment didn’t work properly, what now?

She is 11 years old and had what looked to me like dog fleas (she was born in a house with a dog and the fleas were bigger than normal Cat Fleas, she has about 4 yet most of the eggs have gone thanks to the flea treatment). We are at a loss what to do now as the treatment didn’t work properly. Any ideas?

P.s dog flees Do differ to cat fleas, they’re larger and less likely to bite humans.

Was the flea treatment advantage/revolution. The store bought ones are a lot of times not effective. Advantage and revolution get into the blood stream of the pet and any subsequent fleas that happen to get on the animal will die if they happen to bite…(given that it is within the month the treatment was administered.
However, not all treatments work the same, some of the over the counter medications do not have a lasting effect and do not get into the blood of the animal..therefore if they come in to contact with a flea chances are it will use the cat as a host and multiply.
Not only do you have to treat the cat but the house as well. My advice is to get a vet prescribed treatment.
