Baby sitting a Cat and have some questions?

I am baby sitting a cat for a friend of mine that recently broke up with her boy friend. For some reason the dumb ass has cut the cats whiskers almost entirely off. Guess he figured he was getting her back for leaving him. How long will they take to grow back? Will that cause any health problems for the cat? Thanks

I just counseled an intelligent grown man form South Africa who had never had any contact to dogs or cats ( he honestly didn’t realize there was a difference between the two!) who was just adopted by a dog and was looking for a cat because his daughters didn’t like the dog. Yeah, there was everything under the sun wrong with this scenario, including the fact that he thought whiskers on animals are supposed to be trimmed short – just like on humans.

It takes ALL kinds, and believe me, when you work at the Humane Society you see it!

The whiskers will grow back by next year ( I have no idea how long short of that) and it’s unlikely the kitty will even miss them. I hope your friend doesn’t miss this guy any more than that either, because he sounds like one worth losing.
