Kuala Lumpur Skyline

Author: eL | Files under Photolog

I found few photos of Kuala Lumpur Skyline, in my laptop. Consider it is an old photos because I snaps it all earlier 2008. Some constructions areas in the photos are now standing beautifully. I took all the photos from Kuala Lumpur Tower (Menara Kuala Lumpur), during my last visit with my family. Enjoy the photos!

The Kuala Lumpur Tower (officially known as Menara Kuala Lumpur; referred later as KL Tower) is a tall tower located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was built in 1995. It is used for communication purposes and features an antenna that reaches 421 m (1,381 ft), which currently makes it the fifth tallest tower in the world (after the CN Tower in Canada, the Ostankino Tower in Russia, the Oriental Pearl Tower in China, and the Borj-e Milad in Iran). The roof of the pod is at 335 m (1,099 ft). The rest of the tower below has a stairwell and an elevator to reach the upper area, which also contains a revolving restaurant, providing diners a beautiful view of the city. Races are organised yearly where participants race up the stairs to the top. The tower also acts as the Islamic falak observatory to look for the crescent moon to mark the beginning of Muslim month of Ramadhan, Syawal, and Zulhijjah, to celebrate fasting month of Ramadhan, Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Aidiladha.

Above photo you can see the The Petronas Twin Towers, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The towers were the world’s tallest buildings, before being surpassed by the Taipei 101. However, the towers are still the tallest twin buildings and office building in the world. Tower 1 was built by Hazama Corporation and Tower 2 by Samsung Engineering & Construction and Kukdong Engineering & Construction (both of South Korea). They were the world’s tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004 if measured from the level of the main entrance to the structural top. Tower One is fully occupied by the Petronas Company and a number of its subsidiaries and associate companies. The office spaces in Tower Two are mostly available for lease to other companies. A number of companies have offices in Tower Two, including Accenture, Al Jazeera English, Carigali Hess Bloomberg, Boeing, IBM, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, McKinsey & Co, TCS, Krawler Networks, Microsoft, and Reuters.

Above photo, the two twin towers in brown is Berjaya Times Square. Berjaya Times Square KL is a twin tower complex containing a shopping centre and two five star hotels located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was opened in October 2003. Both towers are 203 metres (666 ft) tall, with 48 floors.

It is tagged as the “world’s largest building ever built in a single phase”, with 7.5 million square feet (700,000 m²) of built up floor area. It offers shopping, luxury accommodation, business, food and entertainment. Currently, it has space for more than 1000 retail shops, 1200 luxury service suites, 65 food outlets to suit many tastes and entertainment attractions such as Asia’s largest indoor theme park, Cosmo’s World and Malaysia’s first-ever IMAX 2D & 3D theatre which is located on the 10th Floor. In April 2005, Borders Group opened its first franchise store here. Currently, the store is the largest Borders bookstore in the world. Other popular stores include Metrojaya, which is a multi-level major department store, and many more.

Above photo, you can see a small hill far away. That is the location I’m staying now. My apartment is very close to the hill. HELLO EL and THE CATS! :XO:

.

Above photo you can see one hill standing alone, that is Batu Caves. Batu Caves is a limestone hill, which has a series of caves and cave temples, located in Gombak district, 13 km north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu or Batu River, which flows past the hill. Batu Caves is also the name of the nearby village. The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia which attracts over 1.5 million pilgrims yearly, making it one of the largest annual gatherings anywhere in the world.
